Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a hands-on therapy that helps runners recover from injury, improve movement, and prevent future setbacks by restoring balance across the body. It’s especially effective for treating common running issues like knee pain, shin splints, Achilles problems, and plantar fasciitis—without relying on medication. By improving joint mobility, muscle function, and postural alignment, osteopathy supports better running mechanics, faster recovery, and long-term resilience through training blocks and race seasons.

The initial session will be 45-60 minutes and we will discuss your injury, complete a full case history and physical asessment, then perform an osteopathic treatemnt. Treatment modalities such as soft tissue manipulation, joint articulation, joint mobilisation, dry needling, myofascial release, and many others. All treatment modalities applied are at prior conscent of the patient. Follow up appointments are 30 minutes. Sports Massage

Sports massage is a highly effective, hands‑on treatment that helps runners stay injury‑free, recover faster, and move better throughout their training. By targeting tight muscles, improving circulation, and releasing deep‑tissue tension, it reduces common issues like calf tightness, ITB irritation, and lower‑back stiffness that often lead to overuse injuries. Regular sports massage also improves flexibility, supports efficient running mechanics, and speeds up post‑race recovery—making it an essential part of any runner’s performance and wellbeing toolkit.

A typical session lasts around 45 minutes and along with traditional sports massage, we will use soft tissue release, muscle energy, techniques, dry needling, fire cupping, myofascial release tools, and positional release. Sports massage is usually applied firmly and comes with a level of discomfort but this is at the control of the client and we constantly monitor for signs that the client is uncomfitable, welcome constant feedback, and will reduce pressure or apply less uncomfrtable teachniques when required.

Running Coaching

There are many reasons to take on a running coach, and who you choose should be multi-factor. Why do you need a coach? Some clients like the accountability a coach brings, others use it to manage the laod to avoid injury and overtraining, others use it to return safely from injury. Our mission is to help you improve by gradually increasing load, whilst imporving performance, but above all else, keeping you safe and away from injury. A coach should help you enjoy running, focus on longevity of training, help you achieve new personal nest times, but provide a process that is fun and keeps you engaged.

We ask for a 3 month commitment, this is due to the amount of work that goes into setting up the initial plan. We do include strength and conditioning, and core strength sessions as part of the plan. We do not limit check-ins and whatsapp chats, or phone calls, we encourage our atheletes to communicate wheneve necessary. We use Trainingpeaks to deliver the sessions, this allows interval sessions to be structured and delivered to your smart watch if it supports it. Trainingpeaks can also be used to monitor your sessions, feedback on your training, and provide your coach with the dayta needed to manage training stress. We will also provide a free 1-2-1 session at JD gym in Rochford, as long as you purchase the £10 guest pass, to run through your first interval session, and demonstrate the S&C exercises.

Advanced Gait Analysis and Gait Re-engineering

Advanced Gait Analysis and Gait Re-engineering are essential tools for runners seeking to improve their performance and reduce the risk of injury. By employing state-of-the-art technology, such as motion capture systems and pressure sensors, these analyses provide a comprehensive understanding of a runner's biomechanics. This process identifies specific movement patterns, imbalances, and inefficiencies within the running stride. By understanding how their body moves, runners can implement targeted interventions, such as strength training or adjustments to running technique, ultimately leading to a more efficient gait. This not only enhances speed and endurance but also plays a crucial role in preventing common injuries associated with running, making it an invaluable component of any serious runner's training regimen.

This is a 90 minute session that includes a full running and injury case history, training plan discussion and adaptation, video analysis of your gait, drills and cues to re-engineer your form for efficiency and performance, specfiic exercises to address assymetries, and video post analysis to see how the adaptations have changed your gait.

Treat and Train Session

In this strength and conditioning (S&C) running-specific session, the focus is on enhancing performance while addressing niggling injuries under the guidance of a skilled therapist. Participants engage in tailored exercises designed to improve their running mechanics and overall strength, all while incorporating injury prevention strategies. The therapist provides insights into managing discomfort, ensuring that athletes are well-equipped to progress safely. By integrating targeted drills and therapeutic interventions, this session promotes optimal running efficiency while prioritising the athlete's long-term health and well-being.

The therapist will run through a running specific S&C session with you, identifying niggles that are affecting your running, and traet them between sets and exercises. This session is aimed at runners that have niggles, not injuries that are stopping them from running. We can treat most injuries, but we would reccomend you contact us to discuss your specific injury scenario.

1-2-1 Running Coaching Session
